The Jefferson Communities Water System, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation organized on December 7, 1998, to construct and operate a water distribution system in Jefferson County, Florida.

Funding for the construction of Phase I of the system, which became operational during 2005, was provided by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and a grant and loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  Phase I consists of three wells, two water towers, 94 miles of water lines and serves approximately 840 customers.

Phase II was completed in May 2010 and added water lines to serve an additional 400 customers and generators at all three well sites to guarantee the supply of water during electrical outages.
